mrbrown was a weekly column write for TODAY (Friday edition) but was suspended after he published an article:
Here: mrbrown Friday Column.
MICA Response:
MICA Letter to mrbrown.
PM Lee's Rally Speech:
PM Lee Rally Text.
excerpt:
e. e.g. mr brown's column in TODAY
i. Column hit out wildly at the government, in a mocking tone
ii. Hence MICA replied
iii. Some feel that reply was too harsh
iv. My view
(1) mr brown is very talented
(2) He is entitled to his views, and to express them
(3) But when he attacked the government, it had to respond
(a) To set record straight
(b) To signal that this is not the way to conduct responsible public debate, especially in the mainstream mass media

mrbrown's NEW podcast: mrbrownshow.com
The new podcast is SUPERLY HILARIOUS!
I really like mrbrown. His response was not directed at the alleged column. There were no allegations involved unlike what our PM did. By saying that mrbrown is talented does not make up for his comments on saying that mrbrown had mocked the Government.
How did this "mee siam mai hum" come about? Someone made the mistake. And since there are no clear legislature restricting podcast (except during election period), mrbrown is fairly safe, for now.
What is PM Lee trying to say?
Mee Siam Mai Hum.
1) There are no hums (cockles) in mee siam(s)!
2) Do we usually speak Hokkien to Muslim sellers?
Well, we can deduce that he either meant "Mee Siam Mai Hiam" or "Laksa Mai Hum".
Did he meant it as a joke or was it a slip-up? Well, at least we have got to credit him for trying to speak like a heartlander. Next time, just stick to the main agenda and try refrain from petty talks.
All these these talk about Heart2Heart and bring the Heartlanders closer...
I was wondering if he had really tried our heartlander's laksa or mee siam before.
21st August, Monday :
It's back to work again. I can't wait for Melvin to arrive. Work was plain boring.
Met vnsa after work and went up to her house, well secretly cause her parents were out. Caught Leon sleeping. :P
22nd August, Tuesday :
Siew Ping is not around in office. Extremely boring. Vanessa accompanied me for lunch! It was a short meet-up. Met her after work again. Bumped into my colleague on the train. Dinner was superbly tasty! Mum's cooking skills are back! So the Lee and Hu family have been exchanging stuff. She bought some "mee jiang kuek" for my family; in return she went home with fruits.
Pris: Save your tummy for some local delights when you're back! :)
Vnsa: Yes, use soap for a cleaner bath. Still in a mess? I would love to help but... :)
spacedonut: Do they really have donuts in space? Thanks for your comments/opinion. Enjoy your month-long break well.
Janice: Haha! Singapore food rocks. I have more pictures to be posted soon.
